John’s cbd review 2022

After the 2018 Farm Bill was passed, Texas is fast embracing CBD oil with less than 0.3% THC federally legal. It has several CBD brands, John’s CBD being one. While reviewing the company, we found many likable things about it, including its wide range of products, including CBD and THC tinctures, edibles, topicals, vapes, hemp flowers, and isolates. Besides, it has a line in its inventory that offers CBD tinctures for pets. John’s CBD features all the three CBD formulations, including isolate-based, full- and broad-spectrum CBD, allowing CBD fans with different needs have a favorite pick. It sells the CBD products in its inventory for $14- $100, an affordable range accommodating CBD users with different purchasing powers. The company ships all orders above $50 for free and offers users a bag for the orders. Since its inception in 2016, John’s CBD has upheld the mission to offer the best CBD for the best prices to ensure accessibility to all who need CBD products. The CBD items in John’s CBD inventory feature a 250- 3000 mg CBD concentration range, allowing a wide margin for CBD clients to hop into. The brand’s website is well-designed and provides enough information about when the company was launched, the product it offers, several blogs on CBD, and the Learn section contains an informative FAQ section answering most CBD- and company-specific questions.

About the Brand

John’s CBD is a 2016-launched brand located in Texas, celebrating its sixth year this year. It is an online CBD distributor that shares the mission of providing the best CBD at the best prices for its clients to ensure accessibility for CBD fans who need the products. In 2020 when it turned 4 years in the hemp space, it received the Texas Department for Agriculture License for legally growing industrial hemp. Since then, it has grown its hemp legally and uses it to manufacture isolate-based, full- and broad-spectrum CBD.

John’s CBD specializes in a range of hemp products featuring CBD and THC. They include CBD tinctures, topicals, vapes, edibles, pet tinctures, and hemp flowers, which you can easily buy from its website. Shipping happens to all the US states, and the company offers free shipping and bags for orders worth or above $50. Still, it does not offer a military veteran discount, but a 30-day money-back guarantee applies to all sales.

The CBD items, including tinctures, pet tinctures, edibles, topicals, vape, and whole-hemp flowers, have 250- 3000 mg concentrations. Still, the potency of different items ranges from 8.33- 16.67 mg/ml, well within the novice range. They cost $14- $100, a range catering to different clients with varying purchasing powers. At an average price point of $0.02- $0.05 per mg CBD, the brand sells its CBD items cheaply. It conducts 3rd party tests and posts the results online, helping it build confidence in clients about the credibility of its items.

John’s CBD is reputable in the hemp space and is one of the biggest brands in the USA. Not only is it rising well above others because of the many items in its inventory, but also because it has an A+ rating on the BBB website. We also checked the FDA complaints as part of our review of the brand, and we are happy to say that it has no complaints registered by the FDA against it. It uses organic hemp to manufacture its products, and all its products, except hem flowers, feature CO2 extraction, a clean method that ensure no industrial solvents are unnecessarily attached to the final products.

Specs

The following specs are true about John’s CBD company, at least based on our review of the website and customer experience;

  • The company deals in an extensive product range.
  • You can buy CBD tinctures, pet tinctures, edibles, capsules, and topicals on the company’s website, as well as many THC products.
  • The different products on the company’s website sell for $14- $100, which is not too high, featuring CBD fans with different purchasing powers.
  • The company has an average price point of $0.05 mg per CBD, well below the market average and what other companies of the same caliber offer.
  • Free shipping and a bag are offered for all the orders worth $50 and above.
  • John’s CBD is based in Texas and sources its hemp in the same location.
  • It employs the clean CO2 extraction method to strip CBD oil from the hemp surfaces
  • There is no centralized lab result hub for posting all the 3rd party lab tests
  • CBD products are tested for the cannabinoid profile, THC/CBD content, and their purity against standard contaminants like filth, molds, heavy metals, organic matter, and industrial solvents

Hemp Quality

Hemp quality is the ultimate determinant of the quality of the final products a brand produces, making it a critically important factor. It is no wonder that most brands that have managed to uphold their reputation and transparency in the hemp space go to all heights to use good quality hemp when manufacturing CBD products. John’s CBD is no exception, it uses organic hemp to manufacture CBD products. Based on the positive customer reviews and the detailed Learn section that details many things about the company, we learned that it sources its hemp locally within the USA. When it was launched in 2016, and over the next 4 years, John’s CBD would liaise with local Texan farmers for hemp. However, in 2020, it received licensing from the Texas Department for Agriculture, allowing it to grow industrial hemp legally. It farms organic hemp in Texas in its farm, and the vertical integration it employs ultimately ensures it does not sell its CBD products cheaply. The mature hemp is then subjected to CO2 for extraction, a method deemed fit in the hemp surface for its ability to strip CBD and retain versatile compounds needed to augment CBD properties while not unnecessarily attaching industrial solvents to the final products.

Transparency and Reputation

There are many ways a brand upholds reputation and transparency in the hemp space. John’s CBD presents itself as a transparent brand by revealing sufficient information about it, including its mode of operation, when and why it was founded, its processes, and its products. Besides, the A+ rating on the BBB corporation website, lack of any FDA complaints, and the brand’s positive reviews are all indicators of a good reputation in the CBD market. As though that’s not enough, John’s CBD conducts 3rd party testing to ensure it remains true and transparent to its clients. However, we could not easily trace the 3rd party tests results online on the company’s official website. Lastly, the informative blogs and the Learn section provide critical information about the company, further contributing to its transparency.

Accuracy

Other than conducting 3rd party tests, brands need to uphold accuracy to carry their names and maintain them in the CBD arena. Accuracy looks at the cannabinoid profiles of the CBD products, particularly the THC and CBD contents indicated on the product labels, against the actual contents. John’s CBD performs averagely in accuracy, with half of the products we ordered passing CBD tests and the other half failing. For instance, the 500 mg cream topically applied for pain had 488.6 mg CBD, revealing a 2.28% variance, well below the 10% acceptable variance limit. The other item whose cannabinoid profile we checked against the labels is the 750 mg CBD softgel which happened to contain 919.77 mg CBD or 30.65 mg per softgel instead of the 25 mg per container. This resulted in a 22.23% variance, surpassing the 10% acceptable limit by far. As such, John’s CBD has a long way to go in straightening the accuracy kinks to see new heights in the hemp arena.

The Manufacturing Process

The manufacturing process is an important in the entire hemp cycle. Like the hemp quality, the manufacturing process informs how the final products will be and how their quality will reflect on the brand. The manufacturing process starts with hemp seed propagation and ends with CBD packaging when the products are ready for sales. Everything from hemp growing & harvesting, and CBD extraction, to 3rd party tests, are all featured in the manufacturing process.

John’s CBD is a legal hemp grower of American hemp. From 2016 to 2020, it would source its hemp from Texan farms, but in 2020, it got licensed by the Texas Department of Agriculture to produce high-CBD hemp. As such, it sources its hemp from its Texan farms and uses them to manufacture CBD and THC products. It uses organic hemp certified by the Texan Department of Agriculture and upholds the highest standards in hemp growing.

Once the hemp plants mature, John’s CBD liaises with farmers who harvest the high-CBD hemp flowers, parts, stems, and leaves for manufacturing CBD and THC products. The harvested parts are cured and processed, and the supercritical CO2 extraction method is employed to ensure the finest CBD and THC products are produced. The final products following CO2 extraction are isolates and full- and broad-spectrum CBD, which take care of all CBD fans. They are then molded into the different CBD delivery methods the brand offers, including CBD tinctures, pet CBD tinctures, topicals, edibles, vapes, and hemp flowers.

The next stage in the manufacturing process involves subjecting the extracts to 3rd party testing. It is a quality procedure that ensures the CBD items in a brand’s inventory are true to the CBD & THC amounts indicated on the labels and that they are pure against standard contaminants, including molds, filth, heavy metals, organic matter, and industrial solvents. John’s CBD works hand in hand with independent brands to test the cannabinoid profiles and their purity against standard contaminants. Most brands post the lab tests online, preferably on a centralized hub where web visitors can easily view them. The 3rd party lab tests for John’s CBD products were mixed, with some revealing a pass while others indicating that the products had too much CBD than indicated on the labels. After the 3rd party lab tests are consolidated and uploaded online, the products are good for sales.

Product Reviews

One of the many things that make John’s CBD outstanding among other CBD brands is how it features many CBD items. It boasts a wide CBD product range and features mainstream and the less sold-out CBD items. You can find the following on the company’s website and order them online;

John’s CBD Tinctures

John’s CBD has some of the highest-quality CBD tinctures you would like to consider. Its CBD tinctures come in 500- 3000 mg CBD formulations boasts a potency range of 16.67- 100 mg/ml. The tinctures sell for $30- $90 and have an average price point of $0.03- $0.06, which is well within the market average. According to the John’s CBD website and product page, the CBD tinctures are taken sublingually for maximum bioavailability. Alternatively, you can add the tinctures to water, food, and drinks and still benefit from them.

John’s CBD Pet Tinctures

Do you have a furry whom you would like to buy CBD items? John’s CBD offers CBD tinctures for pets, and you might want to buy these for your dog. They sell for $20- $60 and pose an average price point of $0.05- $0.08 per mg CBD. The tinctures are administered to the pets orally and sublingually, but you can also add them to foods and drinks. The tinctures feature three strengths; 250, 500, and 1000 mg CBD. They have a potency of 8.33- 16.67 mg/ml, which is just great for the pets.

John’s CBD Beverages and Drinks

If you do not like CBD tinctures, you might as well go for CBD drinks and beverages. These are naturally flavored, so you like them. The CBD drinks and beverages include CBD decaf tea and caffeinated drinks in three and two options, respectively. Their dosages vary, and the instructions are found on individual product pages where you can easily access them.

John’s CBD Edibles

CBD tinctures are a great way of taking the cannabinoid, but many do not like it because of its bitter taste. A good alternative to CBD oils and tinctures are CBD edibles like the John’s CBD gummies you can find in the company’s inventory. These feature naturally flavored gummies without any synthetic materials. The gummies are 25 mg potent and come in 30-count jars, constituting 750 mg in the jar. Like other products in the company’s inventory, the CBD gummies are made from CO2-extracted CBD and are strictly oral. They cost $60 and have an average price point of $0.08 mg per CBD.

John’s CBD Topicals

John’s CBD also offers topical CBD items that you might want to tap on. These are strictly for external use and feature $0.06- $0.07 per mg CBD. They sell for $36- $64 and come in two potencies; 500 and 1000 mg, translating to a wide potency range of 8.33- 16.67 mg/ml. John’s CBD topicals come in full- and broad-spectrum formulations, allowing its clients to enjoy THC-free and THC-filled CBD. The CBD topicals are made from Co2-extracted CBD like other items in the company’s inventory.

John’s CBD Capsules

If you hate on CBD oils and tinctures, you might want to try CBD capsules. These are great for masking the bitter and earthy aftertaste of CBD oil and only need water for you to swallow them. John’s CBD capsules come in two potencies; 25 and 50 mg per cap, translating to 750 and 1500 mg CBD concentrations in the 30-count jars. The CBD capsules cost $48- $64 and have an average price point of $0.04- $0.06 per mg CBD. The CBD capsules feature broad- and full-spectrum formulations to enjoy THC-free and THC-filled CBD capsules.

John’s CBD Isolates

Many CBD users like CBD isolates with no other cannabis compounds but CBD. John’s offers CBD isolates in powdered forms you can opt for to enjoy CBD without terpenes and flavonoids. They come in 1000 mg packages with 1000 mg/ml potencies. At $30 for the 1000 mg CBD isolates, an average price point of $0.03 per mg.

John’s CBD Flower

John’s CBD offers CBD flowers in full-spectrum formulations allowing the user to enjoy the CBD with THC. They come in 3.5 and 7 mg packages. Unlike other CBD products in the company’s inventory feature CO2 extraction but not the hemp flowers. They do not feature any extraction process since they are packaged as they come.

What We Like About the Company

While reviewing John’s CBD, we especially liked the following about it;

  • It conducts 3rd party tests to ensure its products are pure against standard contaminants and have as much CBD and THC as indicated on the labels.
  • The free shipping arrangement for all orders worthy and above $50 ensures customers can save on sales
  • Incentives like bags when CBD fans meet a certain threshold attract more clients
  • The 30-day money-back guarantee is a plus, helping CBD fans who are dissatisfied with a product to return it and seek a refund
  • The CBD items come in isolate-based, full- and broad-spectrum CBD formulations, providing clients with a plethora to choose from
  • The 250- 3000 mg CBD concentration range helps CBD novices and vets to find something that meets their needs
  • The CBD items have an average price point of $0.05 per mg CBD, well below the market average, indicating that the company sells its CBD items cheaply
  • John’s CBD items cost $14- $100, a good range allowing CBD clients with low purchasing powers to have something for themselves
  • There are several ways to reach the customer care desk, including a phone number, email address, and a postal address

What We Don’t Like About the Company

Despite the many pros, the brand has a few kinks to straighten to perform better in the hemp space and widen its loyal customer care desk. For instance;

  • The brand offers free shipping, but it does not have a military discount plan
  • Some items we ordered did not pass CBD tests, with some having more CBD than indicated and posing as high variances as 22%
  • There is no live chat feature through which CBD fans can chat with the customer care desk and get instant responses
  • Although John’s CBD conducts diligent 3rd party tests, it does not post the results online, and you can only access them by reaching out to the customer care desk

Overall Verdict

Generally, our review for John’s CBD was positive, although there are a few areas that need improvement for the brand to do even better. We were impressed by the large range of CBD items and potency, the three CBD formulations, the low average price point of $0.05 per mg CBD, the 30-day money-back guarantee that allows dissatisfied clients to get refunds after returning the products, the free shipping arrangement and the free bag for all orders worth and above $50, and the several avenues to reaching out to the customer care department. Still, the company has a few kinks to do even better. For instance, while it claims to conduct rigorous 3rd party tests in liaison with reputable labs, it does not post the results online, and one has to reach out to its customer care department to view the results. Besides, it offers free shipping that can benefit most CBD fans with low purchasing powers, but the $50 minimum threshold might not be a figure every CBD user can raise. The website is simply designed, but the entire avalanche of CBD and THC products on it might be overwhelming to many. Moreover, the 250- 3000 mg CBD concentration range is fair but not large enough to offer many CBD options for vets who need more potent CBD items. The 3rd party tests for the CBD products we ordered we mixed, and while some items passed the CBD tests, others flopped, posing higher variance limits than the acceptable limits. The brand also claims that its products are free of standard contaminants, but the results are not readily available to prove the claims true. Lastly, while there are many ways to reach the customer care department, it took long before the customer care reps could respond to our emails, which was quite disheartening.
